I have ascended the hours of this day,
Chosen well and poorly.

The way of the ascent,
Of truth laid bare,
Thy judgments reveal.

Have I honored you?
Laid my soul in your hand?
Before me another ladder looms.

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
