Pastor’s Letter – May 17, 2020 – What Have I To Do With Jesus

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Mark 5:7

Dear Church and Friends,

The demoniac asked a great question. He wanted to know why Jesus was sticking his fingers into hell’s business. He even appealed to the decree of God that it wasn’t time for his eternal punishment yet.

We ask the same question. “Who gave you the right to interfere in my life?” Or, “You ain’t the boss of me!” Of course, the Son of the Most High God has every right to do with us whatever he wants. Our control is simply an illusion.

I think we (the church) should take the demoniac’s question and turn it on its head. What a wonderful prayer request it would make. “Son of the Most High God, Help me to have more to do with you! Be sovereign over every part of my life, of my family, of my congregation, and of the all my Brethren in the world. Prepare me for the time to come when work will be over and we all stand before your throne.”

Let’s take the complaint and use it in this way.

• As mentioned in the video journal today, please ask the Lord to provide for a camera that I can use for broadcasting and screen-casting.
• Also, ask the Lord to provide for the software to edit video and create screen casts lessons.
• Pray for our sister churches as they return to in-person worship meetings.
