And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
Mark 7:36
Dear Church and Friends,
Maybe someone you know or perhaps you yourself made perfect marks in school. Most of us never knew what all “As” meant. (Or do I only speak for myself here?) I know people who were awarded perfect grades during their academic careers. It is quite an achievement.
Mark shows us something about the Lord in his seventh chapter. The people who witnessed the healing of the blind deaf man simply could not contain themselves. They gave Jesus perfect marks and their exuberance was expressed in the following ways.
- First, they ignored Christ’s command not to tell it. “And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it.” How could they keep it in? Everyone needed to know about Jesus.
- Second, they made much of Jesus. “And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.” Amen. He does all things well. Let’s make much of Him on this Sunday.
This excitement must have led to the huge crowd in chapter 8. Everyone had come to see this man that their neighbor said, “does all things well.”

Prayer Request: Please pray for Karo Ku, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
- Karo Ku planted Overflowing Community Church in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Overflowing Community Church was going to launch a special event at the end of March as the beginning of our public gatherings, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed our plans. However, it gave us new and unique opportunities to reach out to the community and to love and serve them. For instance, we saw that many small businesses were struggling and closing, so we started to visit them to encourage and help promote their businesses on our social media channel, https://www.instagram.com/overflowing.church/. By visiting them, we were able to build relationships. In fact, one of the visits turned into an hour and a half conversation, and the owner accepted Jesus during the visit. We might be the church plant that couldn’t start gathering, but we’re continuing our journey of loving our community. Please pray for us so that we will continue to be able to minister to them.
