Pastor’s Letter – June 2, 2020 – A Call to Prayer

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

psalm 82:3

Dear Church and Friends,

I know I said I wouldn’t publish a Pastor’s Letter this week, but I would be negligent not to issue a call to prayer during these disturbing days. Riots and Looting fill American cities and this on the heels of the COVID-19 shutdown.

Sparked by the death of Mr. Floyd (which was completely unjust,) American unrest with heavy-handed police tactics has spilled over into something more than the right to assemble. We need to pray. Wick men are increasing and wickedness is on the rise in our country. They are using this situation to their own ends.

Let’s pray the words of David, “Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked” (Psalm 82:3-4).
