And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.1 Samuel 11:12
Dear Church and Friends,
We live in a very contentious time. The political climate is super-heated. However, this is not the first time such conditions existed among men. Just look at the passage I’ve suggested for our reading today and you’ll see a day long ago when the passions of men were politically charged.
The Children of Israel wanted a king and once the Lord saved Jabesh from the Ammonites by Saul’s hand they were certain that anyone who opposed Saul should be eliminated. Sound familiar?
