The Pastor’s Letter – September 28, 2021 – Eliab’s Discouragement

And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?

1 Samuel 17:29

Dear Church and Friends,

Sometimes people will tell you not to get involved, just like David’s eldest brother, Eliab. But David’s question is a good one, “is there not a cause?” Maybe Eliab was afraid David would embarrass him in front of his friends. Whatever the reason, David wasn’t moved off his concern for Israel.

Prayer Request: Pam Whitehead, Monroe, Ga.

Pam Whitehead is a missionary serving through Conestoga Ministries in Monroe, Ga. “I serve at two housing projects in Monroe, Ga., through the Appalachee Baptist Association. We will be adding another in Statham this fall. Pray the families living in these housing projects will be open to hearing the gospel. In August, we had our “Journey Through the Bible” event, where small groups of children and adults walked through scenes from the Bible while hearing stories from Creation to Jesus’ ascension. Pray we will have a great harvest from the seeds planted during that event. Pray as well for the students and teachers of our after-school program. Pray many children will come and that God would provide more volunteers.”

The Pastor’s Letter is coming to an end. The last one will be published on September 28, 2021.
