In the dark of the night a baby cried, In the dark of the night the power of sin died. A sign for Shepherds in poverty awoke, A song for angels, his glory bespoke. The saying told them a wonder for all, A meditation for Mary, pondering the stall. The Shepherds their work now done, Returned to the field, praising the Son.
