He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel:
The mighty have fallen.
Those who abused the poor,
And revelled in a bribe against the righteous.
The ones who turned a blind eye to nepotism,
And who deadened the ear to the cry of the abused.
He hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy,
He makes strong the sword of those who attack,
Who lay their axes to the foundations.
What will the righteous do?
And he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire,
The rivers of fire that Enoch saw,
The holiness that consumes and purifies,
Which devoureth round about.
Dear Lord, let it burn and rid your church of the dross.
