The thing that is notable in this passage is that Abraham is guided by his covenant with God. He didn’t give up on the promise just because he was old.
The Gospel writer added his voice to the voice of the other witnesses to tell the wonderful story of Jesus. But if the words are not heard in the heart, in the home, or in the church they will not have the desired effect.
It is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
